  • Is there a minimum or maximum word count for novels/collections?

While we evaluate manuscripts on a case-by-case basis, generally we look for:

Short Story Collections: 40,000 to 80,000 words.

Poetry Collections: 50 to 80 individual poems.

  • How long will it take to hear back about my submission?

Our review process is thorough, as we read every submission carefully.

We aim to respond within 1-2 weeks. If you haven't heard back after the stated response time we welcome you to send us an email to check the status of your submission.

  • Why do I need to confirm that the manuscript is my original work?

Pynewood Press must ensure that every piece we publish is 100% original and that all legal rights belong solely to the author. This protects you, the author, and us, the publisher, from any future claims of copyright infringement or plagiarism.
